Guided Wave has considerable experience and success in monitoring clear liquids for pharmceutical applications with its Optical Solutions' brand photometers. Furthermore, we provide our Miniview turbidity sensor to determine the onset of crystallization in reactors.
Our single-point ChemView, two-point Simulplex and multi-point ChemViewMx photometers are microprocessor-driven, optical analyzers and do not store files. They utilize multiple-linear regression that can be performed at the plant level without the complexity and expertise required for chemometric methods, such as Partial Least Squares. They all compliant with 21CFR Part 11 and have Full System Life Cycle and IQ/OQ documentation for such applications as:
- Acetonitrile/water monitoring in prep scale reverse phase chromatographic separation of active ingredients
- Solvent recovery, such as mixtures of ethyl acetate, water and methanol
- Measurement of some active ingredients, such as UV analysis of Oritavancin prior to crystallization and drying

These are fiber optic chemical analyzers designed for UV/VIS and VIS/NIR applications using the remote safety of fiber optic cables and sample probes that can be inserted into the reactor and cleaned in place. Flow cells can be provided with triclover fittings for sterilization.
